Possums beat Happy Hour 19-12

The Possums bounced back from last weeks tie, by winning a time shortened 4 inning game against Happy Hour. The offense and defense looked great as the Possums hit 5 home runs to pull off their victory. Dominic Bergin was the star of the game going 3 for 4 with 1 double and 2 home runs driving in 5 runs. Other stars were Brian Hansen (3 for 3 4 RBI), and Mike Carrasco (3 for 4 3 Runs, 2 RBI, 2 2B and 1 HR).

The Possums have no game this week and are currently unscheduled for 10/10/07 but that may change. Stay tuned for an update later in the week!

Sept. 26th Game!

Next week’s game is at 7:15 vs. Happy Hour, El Camino Park, Field #2.

Possums Looking To Bounce Back

Tonight the Possums play at El Camino Park and are looking to bounce back after two loses. Gametime is at 6:30 PM.

Possums Hit Brick Wall

If before the game on the 22nd I told you the score was going to be 20-4 you would have assumed the Possums were going to mercy rule the Young Punks. But unfortunately it was the Possums that were mercy ruled by the Young Punks in 5 innings. There isn’t much more to say other then that. When a team scores only 4 runs in softball there are no stars and their are no highlights. there are a number of excuses though, but we won’t go over those today.

Next game Shaffer Park at 9:15PM, August 29th! Let’s bounce back and get to a 6 wins and 2 loss record!

Possums Do It Again!

Going into the 5th inning the GG Possums were losing and it didn’t look good for them. Already with 5 errors and losing 21-15 things weren’t looking too good. Then the bats woke up. Shutting down their opponents the Body Slammers in the 6th and scoring 5 unanswered runs in the bottom of the sixth. As time was getting short the 7th inning started with the Body Slammers taking advantage of another Possum error for 3 more runs. But that didn’t stop the Possums as they fought back with some key hits and a walk to set up a two run single by Stan to win the ball game 25-24. Stars of the game were OT who went 4 for 4 with 4 runs and 3 RBI, Dominic 4 fo 5 with 4 runs and 5 RBI, the General 5 for 5 with 3 runs and 2 RBI, and once again De La Cruz going 4 for 5 with 3 runs and 3 RBI. Next weeks ball game returns to El Camino Park with an early 6:30 PM game against the Young Punks with the Possums as the home team.

Possums Dominate Their Way to 4-1!

Another week in the books and another victory for the Garden Grove Possums! Tonight the Possums were able to fend off the Hitmen in a 2408 rout. The hit parade was lead by Mike Carrasco would had 9 RBIs to go along with his 4 hits in 4 at-bats. Others with 4 hits for the night were Stotelmeyer, Mentele, and DeLaCruz, who all went 4-5. Possum defense also continued to shine as no errors were made around the horn and the infield defense was stellar with great plays by Stan, The General, and Dom. Hippie painted the corners all night while pitching, keeping the Hitmen on their toes as he threw strike after strike and only walked one batter. The game ended on an exceptional grab by Jason Bergin diving into foul territory on a tailing fly ball down the left field line!

Next weeks game is at 9:15 PM, please be advised that the game is at a new location! Shaffer Park, in Orange, click on the link for a map and directions.

Also we are planning to have a practice this Sunday morning at 8:00 AM, at El Camino, see you there!
